The AI CFO is the data controller for personal data collected through theaicfo.co.uk. This policy explains what we collect and why.
What we collect
- Account data: your email address and, if you sign in with Google, your name.
- Subscription data: plan, status and billing history. Card details are handled by our payment processor and never reach our systems.
- Usage data: which articles you read, so we can operate the free-article limit and improve the edition.
- Analytics data, only if you consent to analytics cookies.
Why we hold it
To provide the subscription you have bought (contract), to run and secure the service and understand what our readers value (legitimate interests), and to meet accounting and tax obligations (legal obligation).
Subscribers receive the weekday digest. You can unsubscribe from emails at any time without cancelling your subscription — the two are entirely separate.
Retention
Account and usage data are kept while your account is active and for twelve months afterwards. Billing records are kept for six years as required by UK tax law.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you may request access to your data, correction, deletion, restriction or portability, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. Contact privacy@theaicfo.co.uk. You may also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
